How to make Filter and Cafetiere Coffee correctly

Posted by Tauseef Chowdhury on

To make a cup of coffee you may use a coffee maker, cafetiere (french press) or simply make it manually

Manually or French Press (Cafetiere):

Do's:

  • Take 2 or 2.5 (7 g) heaped tea spoons of coffee per cup.
  • Boil a cup of fresh water and let it cool for a minute.
  • Add a little of this water on the coffee and stir.
  • Pour the rest of the water.
  • Let it brew for 4 minutes.
  • Filter
  • Sip and enjoy!

Don'ts:

  • Don't pour boiled water without letting it cool as doing so will scold the coffee and make it bitter.
  • Don't reboil the cooled water as doing so will cause the water to lose oxygen which will in turn affect the quality of the coffee.

Coffee Maker:

Do's:

  • Take 2 (or 2.5) heaped tea spoons of coffee per cup into a coffee maker
  • Pour fresh water that has boiled and has been cooled (for a minute).
  • The rest is upto you!

Don'ts:

  • Don't pour boiled water without letting it cool as doing so will scold the coffee and make it bitter.
  • Don't reboil the cooled water as doing so will cause the water to lose oxygen which will in turn affect the quality of the coffee.
